HSI® Human Factors consultants can analyze predecessor systems and user requirements for product or systems under development to identify Human System Integration issues so that they can be prioritized and addressed at the system and concept design stage. Consideration can be given to different options for functional person/hardware/software assignment and user-interface design to:
- Reduce the probability and/or consequences of human error.
- Reduce users' training needs and/or provide embedded training systems.
- Identify and address compatibility clashes with existing components, particularly during life-cycle upgrades to complex systems.
- Predict and balance staffing levels.
As development progresses, measures of human performance taken during simulator or field trials of whole or part prototypes (as part of a Human Factors User Evaluation Plan) will ensure that Human System Integration goals are met and provide design feedback. |
