Trials and Evaluation
Harry has over ten years experience as Human Factors consultant in the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of surveys, focus groups, laboratory and field trials for Human Systems Integration and design. Examples of Human Factors projects, for the military, for transportation and for industry in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K., include personal protective equipment, clothing, personal equipment, vehicle layout, simulator and training systems, sensors, factors affecting individual skill fading, automobile driver navigation aids, weapon systems, and anthropometry surveys, among others. For these projects, Harry has lead and/or worked as a member of multi-disciplinary teams with diverse groups of specialists from industry, universities, and government agencies.
Prior to specialising in Human Factors in the Operational Human Engineering Group at the Canadian Defence and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine as a Medical Associate Officer, Harry served as a Canadian Armoured Officer in Germany, a U.N. military observer in El Salvador, a peace-keeper in Cyprus and a Company Commander and Training Officer at the Canadian Forces Recruit School. Harry is very familiar with military operational requirements and training organisation.
Harry has an M.Sc. in Ergonomics from Loughborough University and is a full member of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists, the Intelligent Transportation Society of Canada as well as a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
