Human Factors Program Planning
What we do:
As part of your team, HSI® consultants can provide Human Factors Program planning and project management at two levels. HSI® can:
  • Plan and manage the Human Factors component of your project.
  • Take the lead for user centred development projects to plan and manage the overall program and coordinate other technical disciplines.
Our capabilities mean HSI® can manage both large programs and small projects. Our experience includes both big, complex, multi-million dollar programs spanning several years and many smaller, shorter projects.

However you decide to use HSI® Human Factors consultants, we are team players and offer you access to specialist Human Factors advice and good project management. Your HSI® Human Factors project manager will represent your best interests for Human Factors during every phase of the project.

How we do this:
HSI® Human Factors project managers follow an effective system of project management, based on recognized project management principles from the Project Management Institute (PMI®). HSI® project managers receive recognized PMI® instruction and our project management team includes project management professionals (PMP®) certified by the PMI®.

HSI® Human Factors project managers work to achieve your goals within your financial and time constraints. We provide early warning of unforeseen challenges and consult fully with the client to find the preferred solution. Regular progress reports keep you informed.

At HSI® we advocate a Systems Design philosophy. HSI® Human Factors consultants commonly work with engineers, industrial designers, software programmers, subject matter experts from the user domain(s) of interest, research specialists, special interest groups and more.

HSI® Human Factors consultants work with recognised Human Factors planning guidelines and standards such as U.S. MIL-H-46855, MIL - STD 1472 and their international equivalents.

The Human Factors Project Plan will describe the goals of Human Systems Integration for the project, identify the tasks, the resources, the budget, the schedule and the team. The Human Factors Project Plan provides the basis for approval of proposed work and progress reviews. Sub-plans may cover, for example, the analysis approach, modelling and simulation, detailed design, trials and evaluation, training development, or research.

Why we do this:
We believe our clients expect and deserve good project management and objective, trustworthy advice about what Human Factors can do, how long it will take, and the cost. Good project management benefits both HSI® and our clients.
