Ron Boothby, M.A., M.B.A., CMC, PMP.
Senior Human Factors Consultant
Defence Systems

Ron has experience in many aspects of Human Factors: command and control, perception and cognition, information processing, situation awareness, training and learning, usability, simulations and evaluations using full-scale equipment mock-ups.

He has extensive experience with military systems and equipment as a result of more than seventeen years in the defence industry. Ron has worked in both technical specialist and senior manager positions on two major capital defence procurement programs: the Canadian Patrol Frigate and New Shipborne Aircraft programs. Recent examples of Human Factors projects include the evaluation and integration of commercial-off-the-shelf components for new conference and tactical workstations for the Canadian Navy as well as design and conduct of mission rehearsals for unmanned air vehicles in a synthetic environment for the Canadian Forces Experimental Centre.

Ron has a B.A. in psychology from Queen's University, an M.A. in psychology from the University of Guelph and an M.B.A. from the University of Ottawa. Following graduate studies, he gained additional R&D experience as a Defence Scientist working for the Department of National Defence for three years. Ron is a member of: the Association of Canadian Ergonomists, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, the Association of Canadian Management Consultants and the Project Management Institute. He is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).
